Cookie notice

Cookies

We do not use a cookie banner for our own tracking, because this site does not run ads or analytics pixels of its own. A few third parties still may store cookies when you use the site. We also use a small piece of browser storage for one on-page tool — that is not a cookie, and it is described below.

Strictly necessary

Cloudflare (HTTPS and DDoS protection) may set a security cookie.

Catalog picker (local storage)

The “help choosing” bubble on catalog pages remembers, in this browser only, that you closed it or finished the questions, which short list it last showed, and which of those product pages you already opened — so the list can mark them when you come back. None of that is a login or an ad profile, and we do not send it to our servers. Clear this site’s data in your browser if you want it gone; the bubble may greet you again after that.

Amazon

If you click a product link, Amazon.com may set cookies to attribute the visit to our Associates tag and to run their checkout. That is Amazon’s processing, described in their privacy and cookie notices. We do not read those cookies.

If we add analytics later

If we ever add a first-party analytics cookie, this page will say so and we will treat it as optional. Until then, you can use your browser’s cookie controls as usual.
